Bio
I am a writer making a career in journalism. My degrees in history and archaeology (BA from Leicester and MA from Exeter), followed by two years with Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA), were profoundly engrossing and appealed directly to my love of history or, more precisely, my desire to understand people and their lives. But it did not satisfy my desire to write – hence my move to journalism and the MA at Kingston University. It has been exactly what I was looking for. It plays to my love of English, societal concerns, research, and the chance to express events, thoughts and opinions with the written word. The course has given me essential skills in many different journalistic styles: feature writing, court reports, general news writing, business reporting; blogs and listicles among them. It has been enormously satisfying and am confident that I have made the right decision to make journalism my life’s work.
