Bio
I am a disability rights and mental health activist. I have spoken on panels about my experience with mental illness and being Autistic. I currently assist state policy for transition age youth at risk for homelessness or first episode psychosis. I also work as a consultant on study about autism and suicide. I have recently published two pieces with Rooted in Rights. I grew up as an ardent animal and nature lover and I was determined to work as a wildlife educator. At the end of my studies I developed severe allergies towards arthropods which I was studying. This forced me to quit and soon after my respiratory problems worsened and I dealt with chronic pain due to fibromyalgia. Being unable to work and got to school and the social barriers that existed gave me the push to pursue advocacy work. I love being an activist and ground myself in nature. I have two dogs and three small aquariums.
