Bio
Kenrya Rankin (she/her) is an award-winning author, journalist, consultant, and product developer who creates dynamic, high-impact content that amplifies the lived experiences, advocacy, and labor of people of color to shift the narrative around who deserves liberation, joy, justice, and dignity. A disabled Black woman, she serves as Research Editor on the Insights team at Mozilla Foundation, where she works on movement building at the intersection of AI and justice, creating infrastructure for movement, including the AI Intersections Database. She also sits on the boards of the Disability Culture Lab and Parent Teacher Home Visits; is a contributing books editor at Essence; serves as principal at the editorial consultancy Perfectly Said Studio; and has authored five books, including How We Fight White Supremacy: A Field Guide to Black Resistance. A 25-plus-year editorial veteran, her work has appeared in dozens of national publications, including The New York Times, Reader’s Digest, Ebony, Fast Company, and Redbook, and has been translated into 21 languages. Rankin holds degrees from Howard University and New York University. A proud native of Cleveland, Ohio, she lives in Washington, D.C. in the United States, where she enjoys Beyoncé dance parties with her kid and belly laughs with her partner. Learn more at Kenrya.com.
