Former journalist who now writes about disability and I also am involved in hospice bereavement. I was born with something called VACTERL and in 2011, I married someone who has it as well. I have spine issues, esophagus issues, a custom made bladder that I catheterize through my bellybutton, one kidney and I’m missing a thumb. I’ve had over 200 surgeries. I still managed to get a journalism degree and a MFA in advanced creative nonfiction. I love crochet, reading (I grew up in a bookstore, so it’s literally in my blood) and watching comfort shows like Hoarders. I love all things pop culture, and I’m a country music nerd.
